Firefighters rescued three cats from a burning apartment in Glendale during a one-alarm fire last Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, it was reported. According to Fire Department sources, the blaze broke out at about 4:30 p.m. on the top floor of a three-story structure on Myrtle Avenue near 68th Place. Responding to the scene (listed in the order of arrival) were members of Engine companies 286, 319, 277 and 291; Ladder companies 135, 112 and 140; Squad Co. 252; Rescue 4; and Battalions 28 and 37-under the direction of Division 14-along with the 104th Precinct, EMS units and the 104th Precinct Civilian Observation Patrol. No residents were injured. One hose line was used by firefighters to bring the blaze under control, an FDNY source said.
