Mayor Takes Tour of Sunnyside Pre-k

Mayor Bill de Blasio and other city lawmakers toured the Sunnyside Community Services (SCS) universal pre-kindergarten program last Friday, Mar. 14. As noted, the visit was part of the mayor’s effort to advance the UPKNYC initiative, which aims to provide free, full-day universal pre-kindergarten to all city preschoolers. Joining de Blasio (second from left) after the tour are (from left to right) State Sen. Michael Gianaris; City Council Majority Leader Jimmy Van Bramer; SCS Executive Director Judy Zangwill; and Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan, chair of the Assembly Education Committee.
