Authorities hunting for driver in hit-and-run that injured man in Astoria: Cops [With Video]

By Alex Robinson

Police were searching for a driver who they said mowed down a pedestrian on an Astoria sidewalk and took off early Saturday morning.

At around 4 a.m., the suspect was driving west on 30th Avenue in a white sedan when he careened onto the sidewalk and struck a 21-year-old man at 45th Street, according to cops.

Video footage released by the NYPD showed the victim’s body flipping over the car as the driver speeds off along the sidewalk.

The victim suffered a broken leg and concussion in the hit and run, police said.
