Grace Fellowship Church, a Sunnyside-based Presbyterian church, is moving its offices from Long Island City into space located on the corner of 43rd Avenue and 46th Street.

The new location, previously occupied by a chiropractor, is being converted into three offices and a community room that can cater to about 25 people. The church expects to open it by the beginning of June.

Pastor Jon Storck said the community room will be available free of charge to local non-profits. He said the church has already spoken to the La Leche League of Queens, a local CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) group and Overeaters Anonymous about using the space.

Storck said that on a day-to-day basis the community room will be open to the public and there will be free Wi-Fi and coffee for sale. He said the coffee will come from Baruir’s, a well-known Sunnyside store located at 40-07 Queens Blvd.

Storck said that there wouldn’t be any worship services at the location or daycare.

“We really want the space to be used by the Sunnyside neighborhood,” he said.

The awning is expected to be replaced by the weekend and will be a charcoal color.

Storck said that the church aims to make the entranceway to the building look a lot more welcoming and the exterior to look much better. He said that he plans to take care of the garden and trees outside the new space.
