A coalition of Flushing community organizations will kick off a summer event series in Kissena Corridor Park Saturday with an Armed Forces Day celebration.
The Francis Lewis High School band and choir will perform at the concert, which will start at noon and run until 2 p.m. at the corner of Main Street and Elder Avenue.
U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Flushing) will attend to hand out congressional recognition to vets who have continued to serve their community after their active service.
The free concert is the first of three events the North Queens Community Programs Committee will put on.
The next event will be an all-Queens family entertainment festival July 20 followed by a music and movie night Aug. 21.
