Marching to Salute American Service

Communities across Queens celebrated freedom and sacrifice at a number of Memorial Day events held in the days leading up to and including the holiday on Monday, May 26. The top towo pictures show active Marines and Navy personnel marching with veterans groups during the Ridgewood-Glendale Memorial Day Parade down Myrtle Avenue on Monday morning. Shown in the bottom photo are bagpipers performing during the Forest Hills Memorial Day march along Metropolitan Avenu on Sunday afternoon, May 25.
