50-Year-Old Shot Dead near Woodside Houses

Two men got into a heated argument in the vicinity of the Woodside Houses last night that left a 50-year-old man shot dead and a 32-year-old with minor stab wounds, according to police.

The two men got into dispute shortly after 11 pm that escalated to a point where the 50-year-old man stabbed the 32-year-old. During the melee, the 32-year-old shot the 50-year-old, according to police.

The police received calls at 11:16pm that shots had been fired near 50-30 Broadway.

Both men were taken to Elmhurst Hospital where the 50-year-old was pronounced dead on arrival and the 32-year-old was listed in stable condition.

The name of the deceased has not been released and the investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
