This and next week, children between the ages of six and 14 and their parents are invited to attend five free “Back to School” soccer clinics hosted by the New York Cosmos and collaborating youth organizations in Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan and Long Island.
Professional training coaches as well as several players from the soccer club will be in attendance to personally work with the kids. Children will also be given the opportunity to meet and receive autographs from the players afterwards.
“The Cosmos are committed to grassroots soccer in New York,” Cosmos Chief Operating Officer Erik Stover said. “Providing local kids with the opportunity to learn from our coaches and players is just one of the many ways in which we can continue to give back to the community.”
A free Cosmos t-shirt and a free redeemable voucher for themselves and a chaperone for one of the club’s final four home matches will be given out to each child. Parents will receive automatic entry for a child if they present a ticket stub at either the Sept. 6 or Sept. 13 soccer match.
