Book lovers celebrated the Ridgewood Library’s 85th anniversary of the branch’s opening with a party on Monday night, Oct. 6, at the Madison Street location. Organized by the Friends of the Ridgewood Library, the event featured a photo presentation on the library’s history. Guests also browsed at written memories from those who’ve used the Ridgewood library through the years. The Friends group, led by its president, Maryellen Borello, also presented the Queens Borough Public Library with a $10,000 donation to continue supporting the branch’s many programs. Among those on hand for the festivities were City Council Members Elizabeth Crowley and Antonio Reynoso and past Friends of the Ridgewood Library Presidents Virginia Comber, Tom Dowd and Paul Kerzner.
