Runners of all stripes jogged through western Queens neighborhoods during the New York City Marathon last Sunday, Nov. 2. Since the event began over three decades ago, it has become a showcase athletic event, with over 50,000 finishers. At this year’s race the overall men’s winner was Kenyan Wilson Kipsang with a time of 2:10:59. The top woman was Kenyan Mary Keitany at 2:25:07. Runners are shown above leaving the Pulaski Bridge-the halfway point in the race-and entering Long Island City.
