High schoolers from across New York City debated and voted on a mock legislative proposal during the 13th annual “Model New York City Council Project” held last month at the City Council chambers in Manhattan. Sponsored by the City University of New York (CUNY), the session focused on a measure concerning residential developments with separate entrances for low-income residents, or so-called “poor doors.” The measure passed 30-19, with two “Council members” absent. Shown above, are the 51 College Now High School students-including Forest Hills High School senior Boris Davidov-who participated in the project.
