A Queens man was arrested and charged with kidnapping and sexual abuse after stealing an SUV with a sleeping 13-year-old girl inside, cops said.
The teen’s 28-year-old uncle, who owns the vehicle, reported it stolen about 6 p.m. Thursday, telling police that his niece was in the back when it was taken at Sutphin Boulevard and 109th Avenue, police said.
Officers from the Queens Gang Squad located the vehicle near 147th Street and Rockaway Boulevard and 23-year-old Kapri Dickson, of Jamaica, was apprehended inside of it, cops said.
After Dickson took the SUV, he allegedly tried to sexually assault the teen in the back seat of the vehicle near Inwood Street and Linden Boulevard, according to the NYPD. The victim yelled and attempted to push the suspect off of her at which time the suspect struck her in the face and threw her out of the car.
The victim was taken to an area hospital where she is listed in stable condition, police said.
Dickson has been charged with kidnapping, sexually motivated attempted assault, sex abuse, grand larceny auto, criminal possession of stolen property, acting in a manner injurious to a child and sex abuse: sexual contact with an individual under 14, police said.
