Sunnyside’s Burger King closed by Health Dept, second time in less than a year

Burger King, the fast-food restaurant located at 40-15 Queens Boulevard, has been temporarily closed by the Health Department.

This is the second time in less than a year that this restaurant has been closed by the health department.

The health department closed the restaurant on Jan. 28 based on the following violations:

Sanitary Violations

1) Evidence of mice or live mice present in facility’s food and/or non-food areas.

2) Food contact surface not properly washed, rinsed and sanitized after each use and following any activity when contamination may have occurred.

3) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to attracting vermin to the premises and/or allowing vermin to exist.

4) Pesticide use not in accordance with label or applicable laws. Prohibited chemical used/stored. Open bait station used.
