By Sadef Ali Kully

ST. ALBANS — A South Ozone Park woman has been charged with setting up a robbery that ended in the fatal shooting of her boyfriend in St. Albans, police said.

Police arrested Natasha Mohabeer, 30, from 109-48 126th St., Friday and charged her with orchestrating Michael Jonathan’s death Thursday afternoon, said Queens DA Richard Brown.

“The defendant is accused of arranging to have her boyfriend robbed, but the victim scuffled with the gunman and was shot and killed,” Brown said. “This is yet another example of the senseless gun violence in our community that must end. The defendant now faces being locked behind bars for the rest of her life.”

On Thursday, around 2:50 p.m., near Mayville Street and Fonda Avenue, 113th Precinct officers responded to the shooting incident and found Jonathan, 33, shot in the stomach and took him to Jamaica Hospital where he died from his injuries, said police.

The alleged gunman stole $500 from Jonathan and then shot him, said police.

Mohabeer has been charged with murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon, according to police. Police are currently looking for the alleged gunman in the incident.
