The LIC Flea and Food market will be returning for its third season this weekend.
The flea will open on April 11 and will run every Saturday and Sunday from 10am through 6 pm through October.
The flea takes place on an empty lot at the corner of Fifth Street and 46th Avenue, just one block behind the Pepsi-Cola sign. The lot is owned by Plaxall, a family-owned and operated business, which hosts and supports the event each year.
There will be more than 80 vendors each day selling food, jewelry, fashion, furniture, art and crafts, antiques and collectibles.
The flea, which opened a beer garden for the first time last year, will serve beer exclusively brewed in Queens. Therefore, the beer served will be from breweries such as Rockaway Brewery, SingleCut, Queens Brewery and Finback.
The flea will also try to cater to young children. For instance, there will be ping-pong and bouncy houses.
“We look forward to a great season ahead offering a place for visitors to come for the day to enjoy the flea, the waterfront park, surrounding businesses and all that Long Island City has to offer,” said LIC Flea & Food President Joshua Schneps.
Popular vendors that will be returning include Butcher Bar, Tea and Milk, along with new food vendors such as Lumpia Merienda, Chuta Madre and CakeBox NYC.
Tea and Milk, which sells tea and bubble tea, gained so much recognition at the LIC Flea last year that its owners opened a shop in Astoria last month.
