Future location of NYU Langone

NYU Langone is opening a medical center in Long Island City in about 18 months to meet the healthcare needs of the growing neighborhood.
The hospital system has entered into a 31-year lease where it will move into a facility at 21-21 44th Drive and will offer multi-specialty ambulatory care.
The announcement stems from a deal it entered into with Norvin Healthcare Properties, a developer that caters to health care tenants throughout New York City.
Norvin plans to convert the existing 2-story, 45,000 square foot space into a health care facility.
Norman Livingston, the president of Norvin Healthcare Properties, said the plan is for the center to be open in 12 to 18 months. However, he said, NYU Langone has ultimate control of the plans.
As LIC continues to grow there is a greater need for high-quality health care facilities, Livingston said.
“This new NYU Langone facility in Long Island City will satisfy that need in terms of both location and the comprehensive range of healthcare services that will be offered under one roof,” Livingston added.
The new medical center will be located within a two-block radius of the E, M, 7 and G train lines.
NYU Langone Medical Center did not respond yet with comment.
