A 20-year-old man was arrested in Sunnyside after he allegedly touched a woman’s buttocks and tried to steal her cell phone at about 2 am this morning.
Jose Cruz, who lives at 51-15 34th Street, allegedly approached a 29-year-old woman at the intersection of 44th Street and Greenpoint Ave. and tried to steal her possessions—including her iPhone. He failed to take off with the iPhone but damaged the screen, the police said.
Cruz allegedly put his hands on the back of the woman’s hips and touched her buttocks.
Cruz was arrested at 2:30 am and was charged with grand larceny, forcible touching, criminal mischief and criminal possession of stolen property.
