Astoria Bank is opening a branch in Court Square, according to two real estate agents who worked on the deal.

The bank is moving into the ground floor of the Vere Building, located at 26-26 Jackson Avenue, said Adrian Lupu, a Nestseekers agent who was in charge of the deal.

Lupu, who confirmed rumors that the bank was coming to the neighborhood, said the branch is expected to open before the end of the year.

Astoria Bank was not immediately available for comment.

Astoria Bank will be taking the upper level of the ground floor that consists of about 2,500 square feet. Meanwhile, Nestseekers will be taking space on the lower level.

Astoria Bank will be moving into an area that is already home to some of the nation’s largest banks such as Citibank and Bank of America.

The Vere building was completed about seven years ago and consists of 43 condo units.
