A Thai restaurant and a Mexican-American diner have opened on 46th Street in the past two weeks.
Term Tem, a Thai eatery, opened at 45-53 46th Street 10 days ago, taking over the space that was previously occupied by the Chinese restaurant China Taste.
The Thai restaurant is small, with about 10 seats. The menu, which is geared for take-out, is extensive.
A standard dish such as chicken pad Thai costs $9:95; a red curry chicken dish $9.95; and a large Tom Yum soup (shrimp) is $8.95.
Meanwhile, a Mexican-American diner called 46 Grill Café opened at 47-55 46th Street earlier this month, replacing a former Mexican bakery.
The diner seats more than 20 people and also has an extensive menu. The diner offers the standard trappings of eggs, sandwiches, burgers, salads and a range platters. Additionally, there is a wide selection of Mexican food–from tacos, burritos to quesadillas.
