Man swipes woman’s pocketbook from Astoria bar, police say

A man stole a woman’s pocketbook at an Astoria pub earlier this month after she left it on the bar to use the restroom, according to the police.

The 25-year-old victim was at Oliver’s, located at 37-19 Broadway, at around 2 am Saturday, September 12, when she left her pocketbook—containing her credit cards and iPhone—at the bar when she went to the bathroom. When she came back, it was gone.

Surveillance video and a photo of the suspect who allegedly stole the pocketbook are attached.
