A woman almost had her cell phone snatched when a man tried to grab it at the 40th Street subway station while she was speaking on it, according to police.
The suspect approached the 33-year-old victim from behind on the stairwell at around 1:20 pm on Monday, October 12, before trying to grab it.
The woman resisted and screamed and the suspect let go of the phone and fled.
The suspect was described as a male Hispanic, 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 130 lbs. He was last seen wearing a gray waist-length hooded jacket with an orange liner, dark-color jeans, and a plain dark-color baseball cap.
