Food Cellar finally opens much-awaited Court Square store

Nov. 5, 2015 Staff Report

Food Cellar finally opened its Court Square location today.

The store opened at noon and shoppers were greeted to many of the trappings that are found at its upscale Hunters Point location.

The store, which is now open from 7 am- 10 pm seven-days a week, is located at 43-10 Crescent Street, on the ground floor (and basement) of the Linc LIC building.

The store is 14,000 square feet and includes sections devoted to fresh produce, meat & poultry, cheese, prepared items, baked goods and groceries. The store also comes with a small dining area, providing nearby workers with a place to eat lunch.

The opening of the high-end supermarket marks a significant milestone in the transformation of the Court Square area.

The area is undergoing an enormous transition driven largely by Rockrose, which is set to add more than 2,000 apartments to the area.

Food Cellar, which signed a 15-year lease in 2013, was expected to open in the summer of 2014 but faced several delays.

The Court Square market is Food Cellar’s second location.
