Police: Man Stuffs $4,500 Guitar Up His Shirt, Walks Out of 48th Street Store

Police are searching for a man who allegedly stole a guitar worth more than $4,500 from the Guitar Center last month.

The man entered the Guitar Center, located at 34-17 48th Street, on Oct. 18th at 3:50 pm and then stuffed a $4,650 guitar under his shirt and left the store without paying, according to the NYPD.

Police described the suspect as a male, white, 30-years-old, approximately 5’10” and 165 pounds. He was wearing a two-tone gray long sleeve shirt over a black t-shirt with a white chest design, blue jeans, black sneakers and eyeglasses.

Police released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking for anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.

This is the second theft to take place at the guitar shop in just a matter of weeks. On October 2nd a man stole a Roland Electric Drum Kit Module, which was listed on the store’s website for $2,199.
