Dec. 17, 2015 Staff Report

The King of Falafel food truck announced on its Facebook page this week that it would relocate after Christmas, following neighbor complaints that it is blocking a driveway on 31st Street.

The truck moved to a temporary spot in October at 31st Street and Broadway, in front of Parisi Bakery and Daly’s Pub, due to construction at its usual location next to C-Town on Broadway.

However, following an Astoria Post report detailing complaints from the building manager at Astoria Tower 31, which has a driveway near the truck, King of Falafel said it would relocate after Christmas.
According to the building manager, many cars and cabs double park in front of the driveway from the building’s underground garage, blocking the way while they wait on line to purchase food from King of Falafel.

On its Facebook page, King of Falafel wrote that it would move “due to some of our customers are blocking [the] driveway of our neighbors.”

The business said it would move across the street from “[Rite] Aid by the municipal parking,” apparently referring to the drug store at 32-14 31 St., on the other side of Broadway.

King of Falafel also extended its apologies for any inconvenience.
