Police are searching for a man who tried to destroy the Christmas lights at a Woodside church by pouring water over the circuitry.
The suspect entered Corpus Christi Church, located at 31-30 61st Street at 7:50 am on Christmas Eve, according to police.
He then went into the utility room, removed a circuit breaker and then took a Christmas flood light switch and placed both items on the floor drain.
He then ran water over the two items before fleeing the church, according to the NYPD.
Police describe the suspect as a male, Hispanic, 5’9” tall, weighing 180 pounds.
Police have released surveillance video of the suspect and are asking anyone with any information to call 1-800-577-TIPS.
