Two men robbed an Astoria gas station at gunpoint Monday morning.
The suspects targeted an employee who pumps gas at the 46-06 Ditmars Blvd Citgo Station for the cash he keeps in his pockets.
The first suspect approached the 63-year-old employee at about 6 am while he was sitting next to the gas pumps and asked him for change for a dollar, according to police.
A couple of minutes later a second man approached the employee and asked if the station sells brake and windshield fluid.
At this point both suspects displayed firearms and demanded money from the victim, according to the NYPD. One of the suspects reached into the employee’s pocket and removed $272.
The men then tied the victim’s hands together before fleeing eastbound on Ditmars Blvd, the NYPD said.
No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
