LIC Flea and Food will be open on the evening of July 4, bringing its range of craft goods, art and eats under the East River fireworks show.
The flea market, which regularly runs at 5-25 46th Ave. every Saturday and Sunday through October, will be open from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4, organizers have announced. This is the second year that LIC Flea and Food is hosting a July 4th market.
The Macy’s 4th of July fireworks display will take place that evening from the East River near Hunters Point South Park (which is expected to be closed off for use as a staging area). Police expect more than 50,000 spectators to head to the Long Island City waterfront for a view of the show.
LIC Flea and Food offers craft goods, art, antiques and a range of foods from more than 80 vendors. The Flea also has an all-Queens beer garden with eight beers from local breweries on tap.
“We’re extremely excited to host our second annual 4th of July market this year,” Joshua Schneps, president of LIC Flea and Food, said in a statement announcing the July 4 market. “There is no place better to celebrate the holiday than along the LIC Waterfront.”
