Basketball stars will be visiting a Long Island City school next week thanks to one local students’ dance moves.
The Brooklyn Nets’ Wayne Ellington and New York Liberty’s Epiphanny Prince will visit P.S./I.S. 78 after a second grader won the Aquafina Happy Body Dance School Contest.
The contest, which ran from March 21 to April 4, asked kids across the U.S. to submit a video of their best “happy body” dance moves, for a chance to win a NBA/WNBA FIT Clinic – part of a health and wellness program that aims to inspire fans to be active, eat healthy and play together – featuring a visit from professional players at their school.
Fans selected two winning videos. The local winning student was not named in the event announcement.
Prince and Ellington will visit P.S./I.S. 78 on Tuesday.
Ellington, an eight-year NBA veteran, just finished up his first year with the Nets.
Prince has been in the WNBA since 2010 and with the Liberty since 2015.
