A 22-year-old man was hit by a car — whose driver fled the scene — in Rego Park early Friday morning and was then dragged about a block further down the road by another car, police said.

According to police, the victim was riding his bike when he was hit at the intersection of Dry Harbor Road and Woodhaven Boulevard at approximately 4:40 a.m. on July 29. As he was lying in the street another vehicle ran into him and dragged his body to 62nd Avenue.

Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the accident and the victim was transported by EMS to Elmhurst Hospital where his condition originally listed as critical, but has since been upgraded to stable.

The driver of the first car left the scene, making it a hit-and-run. The driver of the second vehicle remained at the scene and currently has not been charged.

The hit-and-run driver remains on the loose and an investigation is ongoing.
