A lottery for affordable housing units in Astoria is now open.
Residents can apply to be entered in the lottery for six newly constructed affordable housing units at 11-07 Welling Court, according to the Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD).
The application process opened on June 30 and will run until July 22.
The available units are one-bedroom apartments. Rent will cost $947 per month.
Interested renters have to meet income requirements to qualify for the lottery.
Single renters will have to have annual household earnings between $32,469 and $38,100, while two-person households will have to have annual household earnings between $32,469 and $43,500, according to a HPD flier.
Residents who live in Community Board 1 will receive preference on half of the units.
The building features a fitness center and on-site parking.
