Police are searching for a suspect who pushed a man down a flight of stairs for no apparent reason.

The perpetrator pushed a 69-year-old man down a flight of stairs inside the 36th Street M/R subway station, on July 6th at 1:30 pm, according to police. There were no words exchanged prior or after the assault, the NYPD said.

The suspect fled the station to the street.

The victim suffered a fractured knee and was moved to Mt. Sinai Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD.

Police describe the suspect as a male, black, 25 to 30 years old, 6’0” tall, heavy set and bald. He was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt and black pants.

Police have released a surveillance video and photo and are asking anyone with any information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
