Long Standing LIC Law Firm Relocates to Hunters Point Plaza Plaxall Building

A Long Island City law firm with more than 15 years of experience serving the neighborhood has recently relocated its staff of 35 employees to the Penthouse at the Hunters Point Plaza Plaxall building at 47-40 21st St.

The Law Office of Usman B. Ahmad, which previously occupied the landmarked Clock Tower Building at Queens Plaza North, is now located around the corner from the Hunters Point 7 train station, and steps away from the 21st Street-Van Alst G train stop.

Primarily known for its strong immigration department, the firm has been able to help individuals and families with all aspects of family based immigration, business, investment and employment visas and representation in Immigration Court proceedings.

“I have been practicing law for over 17 years and currently have a team of 12 attorneys that represent our clients all over the country,” said the firm’s founder Usman B. Ahmad.

Mr. Ahmad received his undergraduate degree from Hamilton College and his Juris Doctorate Degree from Brooklyn Law School. He has been recognized by numerous organizations for his hard work, dedication and generous support to the South Asian Community.

Having had a stake in Long Island City for so long, Mr. Ahmad said his team’s mission has always been to help as many LIC residents as possible. For example, his firm has helped people dealing with immigration matters and domestic violence problems Pro bono.

Growth in Real Estate and Small Business Steers Firm in New Direction

With the bustling growth of young professionals and development in western Queens, the firm has doubled down on strengthening the number of specialists they employ to assist in real estate, wills, trusts, business and estate law.

“We have structured and documented numerous purchases and sales of real property. These transactions have involved diverse types of properties including commercial, condos, co-ops, as well as hotels, restaurants, and retail,” Mr. Ahmad explained.

“Our firm’s involvement entails all aspects of the transaction, from the initial negotiation and preparation of documents through the financing, construction, and closing phases. We counsel all parties including developers, brokers, and investor clients in the acquisition process.”
