This suspect punched a guy in the face for his wallet at entrance to an Astoria apartment building

Police are looking for a man who punched another man to the ground before stealing his wallet in an Astoria apartment.

On Aug. 13 at 4:45 a.m., a 51-year-old man was walking into a residential building on 23rd Street when the suspect approached him from behind and covered his mouth. He then punched the man on the right side of his face, which caused the victim to fall to the ground.

 

The suspect then stole the victim’s wallet from his back pocket and fled the location.

The individual is described as a black male, approximately 25- to 35-years-old, 6 feet and last seen wearing a blue and green tank top, khaki shorts and black sneakers.
