Oct. 6, 2016 Staff Report
The Butcher Gourmet Deli has closed with workers yesterday clearing the space and dumping many items.
While there was no word as to why the store closed, the LICPost reported last year that the owner of the deli is a co-owner of the development site next door.
That development site, located on the corner of Vernon and 50th Avenue, is expected to be comprised of 15 rental units with room for two or three ground floor retail spaces.
One of the retail spaces will be occupied by the Butcher Gourmet Deli, according to sources.
Meanwhile, the bar/restaurant that is taking over for the now-defunct Station LIC at 10-37 Jackson Avenue, will be having its grand opening Monday.
The restaurant, called Jackson’s, will be serving regional American cuisine and beer from the local breweries.
