Man shot in Corona, cops looking for suspect

Police are searching for a suspect who shot a 22-year-old man in the leg in Corona last night.

According to police, the victim was walking eastbound on 57th Avenue outside the Popeye’s restaurant near 97th Street around 7:40 p.m. when a man approached him and displayed his gun. The suspect then shot the victim in the right leg, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported in stable condition to Elmhurst Hospital for treatment.

The suspect is still at large, and an investigation in to the incident is still ongoing.
