Police are searching for a bandit who came calling to a Ridgewood bank and stole a bundle in cash earlier this week.
Authorities said the robbery occurred at 3 p.m. on Nov. 9 inside the Chase bank located at 60-67 Myrtle Ave.
Law enforcement sources said the suspect — described as a white male between 25 and 35 years of age, standing between 5 foot 8 inches and 5 foot 10 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds with a beard and mustache — approached a bank teller at the counter and presented a note demanding cash.
Police said the teller provided the crook with an undetermined sum of money; he then fled the scene in an unknown direction. A security camera captured an image of the suspect apparently talking on a cellphone.
Officers from the 104th Precinct responded to the incident; there were no injuries reported.
The suspect was last seen wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt, a green baseball cap and dark green pants.
Anyone with information regarding the suspect’s whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS, visit their website or send a text message to 274637 (CRIMES), then enter TIP577. All calls and messages are kept confidential.
