Sunnyside residents will have a chance to get a jump-start on holiday shopping at the Sunnyside Artists Craft Fair this weekend.
For the seventh year running, the Sunnyside Artists are hosting the annual Holiday Craft Fair at the Queen of Angels Parish on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., offering a wide selection of locally made crafts including jewelry, textiles, art and more.
The fair will have 33 different vendors, with goods ranging from handbags to food art to ceramics, and everything in between.
“We want every person to have fun and enjoy looking at the beautiful handmade crafts,” said organizer Patricia Dorfman.
She added that the fair will have more than just crafts, however, and will be fun for everyone with music, raffles, and locally made snacks.
“Even if people don’t want to buy anything, it will be a great family friendly event,” Dorfman said. “We want to make going to the arts and crafts fair an activity the way you go to the Mets game, with everything accessible in one place.”
The event will also have a raffle, including items such as a Jack Daniel leather motorcycle jacket, Versace fragrance from Family Pharmacy, a ceramic box from artist Leonora Retsas, a $50 gift certificate from Sole Luna, and more.
In addition to supporting local artists, 20 percent of the proceeds from the table fees go towards local food pantries to give back to the community.
