The Ridgewood Property Owners and Civic Association got everyone in the neighborhood into the holiday spirit on Thursday night with its annual tree lighting and concert at I.S. 93.
Scores gathered at the school located on Forest Avenue between Madison and Woodbine streets for an evening of entertainment that included some local artists performing classic Christmas carols.
The spectacular concert in the school’s auditorium featuring performances by the St. Matthias Adult and Youth Choirs, the Christ the King Concert Band and Chorus and pianist Stephen Haufe.
Local dignitaries also offered their holiday greetings, including City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley, Assemblywoman Catherine Nolan and Evelyn Cruz, who represents Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez. Santa Claus also made an appearance.
