Police are searching for a man in connection with two recent robberies on the E train.
The first robbery took place on December 18, when the suspect approached an 18-year-old man on a Manhattan-bound E train around 3 a.m. and displayed a knife. He took the victim’s iPhone and fled at the Northern Boulevard station in Woodside, police said.
The second incident was on January 4, when the suspect and another man approached the 20-year-old victim in an E train stopped in the 23rd Street station in Manhattan. The two men punched the victim in the face and head and took his wallet, which contained a metro card and debit card, as well as his phone charger.
The suspect in both robberies is described as a black man wearing a red du-rag.
Police have released a video of the suspect and anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
