A pop-up shop specializing in locally made goods that closed last month will be opening up for Valentine’s Day.
Made In Queens, a pop-up shop that sells Queens-made merchandise and closed last month, will be opening up for Valentines Day from February 10 to 14 in its old location at 27-24 Queens Plaza South.
The store, run by the Queens Economic Development Corporation as a way to help local manufacturers sell their goods, closed last month before its scheduled run was supposed to end this spring, due to lagging sales.
However, the QEDC will reopen for five days to sell locally produced jewelry, chocolate, pottery, cards, flowers, and more.
The shop will be open Friday, Feb. 10 from 4 to 8 p.m.; Saturday, Feb. 11 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Sunday, Feb. 12 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Monday, Feb. 13 from 4 to 8 p.m.; and Tuesday, Feb. 14 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to selling local goods, MiQ will offer free 3-D card making workshops in the shop, led by local artist Niizeki Hiromi.
The workshops will run on Friday from 4:15 to 6 p.m. and 6:15 to 8 p.m.; Saturday from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1:15 to 3 p.m.; and Monday from 6:15 to 8 p.m. The workshops are open to everyone, but participants must RSVP at https://nh3d1.splashthat.com/.
