Venturo Osteria & Wine, the up-scale Italian restaurant located on Queens Boulevard, has closed.
The restaurant, which opened at 44-07 Queens Boulevard in 2013, won many accolades while it was in business, including the prestigious ‘bib gourmand’ award by Michelin in 2015 and 2016. It also often got a shout out—much like the now-closed Salt & Fat—when Manhattan-based news outlets profiled Sunnyside.
The restaurant was owned by Giusepe Falco, Leonard Sacco and Michelle Vido, who operate Vesta and the Mexican eatery Pachanga Patterson in Astoria.
The location is going to be taken by Valerio Marchi, the popular owner of Soleluna, who plans to open a Naples-style pizzeria.
Marchi, an Italian-native and Sunnyside resident, will have two restaurants within a few blocks of one another.
Marchi opened Soleluna, an Italian restaurant at 40-01 Queens Boulevard, with his wife and two others in the summer of 2015.
