Riders of the N and W trains faced heavy delays this morning as a result of mechanical problems at the Lexington Avenue-59th Street station, according to the MTA.

Service was down between Astoria-Ditmars Blvd  and 57 St-7 Ave in both directions from about 8:30am until 9:45 am.

Manhattan-bound R trains were also running on the F line from Jackson Hts-Roosevelt Av to Lexingtoan Av-63 St. with delays.

The disruption came the morning after evening rush-hour service was down for about an hour after a man was critically injured at the Broadway station after being struck by a train.
