A Long Island City rowhouse built five years after the Civil War ended that now features a glassy atrium looking out into a beautiful garden is on the market for $3.5 million.

The Italianate-style row house at 21-20 45th Ave. was constructed in 1870 and still retains its original tin ceilings, marble mantels and exposed brick. It includes five bedrooms, three-and-a-half bathrooms, a garden and three fireplaces.

The bottom duplex under the stoop features a large eat-in chef’s kitchen, living room and glass extension that is used as a yoga and meditation room. Two bedrooms and a full bath are located on the second floor.

The third floor includes a renovated kitchen and an open living/dining room and a bedroom and full bath.  Two additional bedrooms, an office and another full bathroom are located on the fourth floor.

Brown Harris Stevens Residential Sales is in charge of marketing the property and an open house is scheduled for May 21 from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
