An NYPD school safety officer was arrested on Thursday night for hitting his daughter with a belt at their home in Queens.
According to police, Henry Bernal, 34, was in an argument with his 14-year-old daughter over her cell phone on Thursday, May 25. Following the argument, police say that Bernal whacked his daughter with his belt.
Police did not disclose Bernal’s address, only stating that he lives within the 104th Precinct‘s confines. Officers from the Ridgewood-based precinct responded to the scene at 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
Following an investigation, officers arrested Bernal on charges of assault, acting in manner injurious to a child and criminal possession of a weapon.
