The NYPD is searching for a man who allegedly robbed and kicked a 44-year-old woman at the 74th Street-Broadway subway station in Jackson Heights last week.

The suspect engaged the woman in conversation Monday, May 22, as she was going through a turnstile around 10:40 p.m. before allegedly snatching her purse and running down the staircase toward the street, police said. The victim chased after the suspect and caught up to him at the stairs at which point he turned to the woman and is suspected of kicking her numerous times in the chest and stomach, police said.

The suspect allegedly removed nearly $300 from the victim’s purse before throwing it on the floor, according to police. He then ran out of the station and fled northbound on 74th Street.

The suspect is described as black, 25 to 35 years old, 6-foot-2 to 6-foot-4, 155 pounds with a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweater, blue jeans and a Chicago Bulls baseball cap.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
