A 28-year-old Woodside man was killed and a teenage girl was critically injured Saturday morning in a collision at the intersection of Queens Boulevard and Skillman Avenue, the NYPD said.

Police from the 108th Precinct responded to a 911 call and discovered Steven Narvaez of 48th Street unconscious and unresponsive, with severe body trauma along with a 17-year-old passenger with trauma to her body, according to the NYPD.

EMS pronounced Narvaez dead at the scene and transported the girl to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where she remained in critical condition Monday, police said. The NYPD’s Highway Unit’s Collision Investigation Squad determined Narvaez’s 2013 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on Skillman Avenue, approaching Queens Boulevard when he ran a red light and struck a 2007 Freightliner tractor trailer traveling northbound on Queens Boulevard. The Corolla came to a rest under the truck.

The truck driver remained at the scene and was not injured, police said. There were no arrests and the investigation continues, according to the NYPD.
