Police in the 102nd Precinct want the public’s assistance in nabbing a burglary suspect that is responsible for five separate incidents over the course of two weeks in Kew Gardens and Richmond Hill, including three on the same day.
Police describe the suspect an African-American man of medium complexion, between the ages of 25 to 35.
The burglar stole more than $47,000 in jewelry, $500 in Canadian currency, a pair of sunglasses and a watch, police said.
The first incident occurred May 18 at 6 a.m. at a residencewithin the vicinity of Lefferts Boulevard and Metropolitan Avenue in Kew Gardens. The suspect stole jewelry, but the value was not given, police said.
The second theft was reported May 29 at 6:30 a.m. in the same area, where $40,000 in jewelry was stolen, according to police.
Three thefts transpired June 5. The first was at 7:45 a.m. at a residential building in Richmond Hill at 115th Street and 84th Avenue. Sunglasses, a watch and $500 in Canadian currency were stolen, police said.
A little over three hours later, at 11:15 a.m.the suspect reportedly went to a residence on 83rd Avenue and Kew Gardens Road. There, the suspect stole $5,500 worth of jewelry, police said.
The last incident happened some four hours later, at 3:30 p.m. at 118th Street and 83rd Avenue in Kew Gardens. Jewelry worth $1,500 was removed from the apartment, according to police.
The suspect used an unknown object to break into the apartments, according to police.
