Three workers injured in Astoria construction accident

Three construction workers were injured following a construction accident at an Astoria house Tuesday afternoon, the FDNY said.

The workers were injured after a crane boom dropped materials onto a home on 28th Road near 31st Avenue at about 3:30 p.m.

Several FDNY units rushed to the scene to free the injured workers. As of 4:15 p.m., two of the workers had been pulled from the building with serious injuries and rushed to Elmhurst Hospital; according to the FDNY Twitter account

The FDNY were still removing a third worker as of 4:20 p.m.
