Sunnysiders can enjoy free Shakespeare on select evenings this summer as the Hip to Hip Theatre Company comes back for its 11th season.
A performance of Henry IV will take place at Sunnyside Gardens Park (48-21 39th Avenue) on Tuesday, July 25 at 7:30 p.m.
The next performance scheduled for Sunnyside Gardens is Measure for Measure on Tuesday, August 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Performance days will feature free interactive workshops for children 30 minutes prior to the 95-minute plays.
Hip to Hip is a Queens-based theater company founded a decade ago by actors Jason and Joy Marr to stimulate and develop interest in theater in underserved communities. Over 20 performances are scheduled to take place across the five boroughs including neighboring areas like Flushing Meadows Park and Socrates Sculpture Park in Long Island City.
