Ravenswood resident gunned down waiting for bus: NYPD

A 26-year-old man was gunned down in broad daylight outside the Ravenswood Houses in Astoria Sunday, according to the NYPD.

Terrell Smith, a resident of 21st Street in the public housing development, was sitting at a Q69 bus stop just after noon at 35-51 21st St. near 36th Avenue, when he was shot three times in the torso, police said.

Smith was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said. It was not clear what sparked the shooting.

There have been no arrests and the investigation was continuing, according to the NYPD.
